the only way to really know is to really let it go

so oh dear i have developed an intense girl crush on Ingrid Michaelson!!!
her concert was...uh great? amazing? gramazing? yeah pretty much.

ok well first of all lets talk about her opener Skyler Stonestreet. she is a local santa barbara-ian and she is in a word. sweet. her voice is too sweet for words. yeah she was adorable, check her out she's great.

now: Ingrid!!! she definitely has one of the best stage presence i've seen, she's hilarious, quirky, and is a ridiculously amazing talent. she brought the audience in to most of the songs and it seriously felt like it was one of my friends preforming for us. i really can't tell you how many songs her set was because she had so many non-recorded little flairs thrown in there. when the first notes of "Be Ok" were played and people reacted, she then asked how we didn't know she was about to sing a song about poop. she then sings a song about, yup, poop. hilarious. later in the set as she sets up "The Way I Am" and talks about a rap remix of the song, she breaks into rap singing "Ice Ice Baby" followed by the fresh prince of bell air theme. After her final song of "Maybe" she then sang about mexican food. All her amazing originals, plus her rapping stills, not to mention an amazing cover of Radiohead's "Creep" made this one of the best concerts i've been to and i couldnt be happier. the night ended with free sunglasses(woo go a.s.!) and me scouring(did you know scouring isn't spelled scowering? hmm i didnt) the campus to find and steal one of the posters for the concert. definitely made this night a success. yay! go tonight! and go Federer/Murray in the aussie open final in which i am watching at present!

creep cover

yes my video-ing abilities are sub-par. but so is my camera.

"The Way I Am" part deux in her own double time.

and after nearly an hour of trying, the mexican food song clip is not working, sorry.

one day

one day i feel like i will return to typing like an educated person, you know with capitals and periods and such(and proper grammer, jeesh) but until then, i am very sorry for this.

Wow so I have realized that i have never once mentioned my love of tennis in any of my posts and when I began to right my initial post on this subject it unconsciously turned into a rather superficial tennis resume for myself. In short I have played tennis basically my entire life and i love love love it and yes when it comes to tennis i am pretty confident in myself. Is there anything else that is important that I need to say? No, not unless you would like to be bored to death. But yes tennis. ahh tennis.
Ok now on to the whole point of this post, the Australian Open!!!!!!!!!!!! yay!!!! I am currently watching the men's second semifinal between Federer and Tsonga and I am truly happy in my element. I, of course, am a Federer fan and really if you aren't I really feel like there is something seriously wrong(i understand if you want someone else to win, but to not like him... crazy). So Go Federer!!! But for the finals Murray vs. Federer...err to be determined I can actually say that either is fine with me, I really do believe Murray deserves a major and boy does he have a ton of pressure. However, saying that I don't mind if Murray wins, I still want Federer to win because he is a true genius on the court. But yes. there is my shpeel. oh wait except i don't like Henin. and I would rather have just about anyone else win on saturday, I do not respect her as a player, there i said it.
oh and i get to see her on saturday!!!! so excited!!!

january showers bring...

so the rainy season has apparently arrived a bit early this year, southern california is finally getting some well deserved rain and santa barbara has been no exception.

but lets not talk about the weather too much.

quarter number two of college is well under way and things are as hectic as they come, with 20 units this quarter i'm up to my eyes in work and housing possibilities for next year. one thing i haven't quite got is why students must sort out their living accommodations so early in the year. my personal hope for next year is to get into one of the co-ops in isla vista but my chances aren't the greatest so im trying not to get my hopes up. so instead i'll just wish for the best.

old and new years and friends

goodbye 2009...i really can't say i will miss you much, true some awesome things have happened this year...graduating, starting college...but the bad has basically outweighed it.

but on and on and on to a new year!!! full of new friends new hopes and new resolutions.

while i still do not know what to call you oh new year i am determined to make you the best yet!

my new years plans consisted of hanging out with old and dear friends and new and soon to be dear friends. ending the night with a classic sleep over with one of my dearest.

while there are many things up in the air for me at present i am feeling very content and rejuvenated and ready for the next wonderful stage in my life. i am feeling more determined than i have in months and months and i am planning for this new outlook to stay.

things are looking up. (knock on wood)
